Kande Ki Sabzi /Onion Sabzi

Kande Ki Sabzi is a simple rajasthani dish which has unique and wonderful flavor that just got to be paired with Bajra ki Roti, Missi Roti.

This simple sabzi is prepared using onions, yogurt. Learnt this colorful rajasthani dish from snowmecurry.com




Ingredients:

Onions – 3 no
Clarified Butter or ghee – 1tsp
Green chillies – 2 no
Ginger garlic paste – 2 tsps
Cumin seeds– 1 tsp
Yogurt -1/2 cup
Coriander powder – 1 tsp
Turmeric powder – 1 tsp
Red Chiili Powder – As Required
Salt – AS Required
Coriander leaves to garnish 
Oil – 3 tsps

Preparation

  • In a bowl take yogurt, with ½ cup of water and mix well without lumps.
  • Now add coriander powder, turmeric powder, red chilli powder and mix the yogurt mixture well and keep aside.
  • In a pan heat oil and butter on medium heat.

  • When the oil gets heated add cumin seeds.
  • After they sizzle add ginger garlic paste and cook till raw smell goes away.
  • Now add green chillies and cook for 1 min.
  • Add yogurt mixture and mix well and cook till the oil floats.
  • Now add sliced onions and mix well.
  • Add water if required and cook onions for 15 mins on medium flame till the moisture has been absorbed.
  • Garnish with coriander leaves.
  • Serve with roti, naan or chapati’s.

  29. This is a great idea for days when you run out of vegetables (which happens quite often with me!). Just onions and yoghurt... I have a feeling I'm going to resort to this recipe soon :D
